A Welcome

I thought I should take some time to tell you about myself and The Life and Tunes of Cerys Goff.

Obviously my name is Cerys Goff, I'm in my twenties and I am, at heart a music journalist but there are certain things that get in the way of me pursing my dream career, mostly my mental health. The Life and Tunes of Cerys Goff was once a project I undertook during my time at university but regrettably I had a minor break down and deleted everything just when it was really taking off. I still don't really know what this was suppose to solve as I only got positivity from blogging. So, if you wish, think of this as version 2:0 of The Life and Tunes of Cerys Goff.

This blog is a mix of personal tales and the music that fuels them so expect honesty here and the chance to discover new or previously unheard of music that can become just as much a part of your life as it is mine. Music is such a powerful thing, it can make you deliriously happy or indescribably sad and even seem like a friend when you really need one. There is a comfort in music and I want to share the songs and artists that I love, that have, and still are, helping me through the tough times in the hopes that they can paint your day in brighter colours than those that you are inclined to see.
As I have already said this blog will be honest and for that there is something about me I should share  (although I am terrified to do so) I am a paranoid schizophrenic who suffers from chronic depression. Originally the blog didn't speak about this at all, I was undiagnosed at the time but since deciding to reboot The Life and Tunes of Cerys Goff I saw only two options, firstly to not say anything about my mental health and pretend that it wasn't there or secondly to grit my teeth and finally share my problems with the world. I've decided to share because I want to be honest and maybe by starting a dialogue I will not only be able to help myself understand it better but also others as well who may be suffering or know someone who is.

Anyway I'm rambling so I'm going to sign off now but before I go I want to say a big welcome to anyone who thinks they may want to share in my musical and personal discoveries!
